I still don't know how to post, but I'll comment....So as Chrissy and I sit here eating 2nd and 3rd dinner we began talking about cultural lenses. I was wondering what the difference is between hegemony of the dominant culture and cultural lenses. For example growing up in public school the hegemony in education was from the perspective of modernity. I grew up for a while really believing the story of Christopher Columbus making friends with natives and eating a big thanksgiving dinner together...ect. So I'm wondering if that is a cultural lens or just the hegemony of the dominate culture or if I'm getting too caught up in definitions.
